Leopard kills 9-year-old boy in Kupwara village

Kupwara: A nine-year-old boy was killed in a leopard attack at Manzpathra village of Chowkibal area in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday, triggering panic among local residents.

The man-animal encounter as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) occurred near high school and left the child severely injured. However, the victim succumbed to his injuries later.

The incident spread fear across the area, particularly as it came just weeks after another child from the same village was attacked by a leopard and injured.

Locals have urged the Wildlife Department and district administration to launch an immediate operation to capture the leopard and prevent further attacks—(KNO)
