Landslide Leaves Truck Driver Trapped in Mandi Poonch

Poonch, Jun 19 (GNS): Landslide triggered by incessant rains has left a truck driver trapped in Saklo Mandi area of Poonch district, officials said.

They told GNS that a rescue operation has been launched following a landslide which mowed down a moving truck at Saklo of Mandi area this afternoon. “Efforts are on to rescue the truck driver from the site”, the officials said adding the landslide has also caused damage to several shops.

SHO Mandi Bashir Kohli confirming the incident told GNS that a police team laced with machinery besides being assisted by locals launched a rescue operation at the site. (GNS)
