Kulgam, May 9, : Villagers from Bonigam hamlet of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district chanted slogans in favour of BJP District President for helping them to get a power transformer.
Local sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that China Mohalla Ward 2 of Bonigam village was without electricity form past few weeks. They said that the power transformer used to develop faults frequently.
The locals tried hard to persuade Power Development Department to replace the transformer, even, the intervention of some political leaders didn’t yield any result.
They said finally locals approached district president BJP for Kulgam, Abid Hussain Khan.
“Khan put all his efforts and finally today 100 KV power transformer was sanctioned for the locals of Chinar Mohalla. Locals chanted slogans in favour of BJP and Abid Hussain Khan and thanked him for his efforts,” said a local to KNT.
Pertinently, locals from a Pulwama village had also chanted slogans to eulogize the role of the then Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Satya Pal Malik when the later helped them to repair the damaged power transformer in time. (KNT)
