Srinagar : Police on Saturday said District Administration Pulwama retrieved one Kanal of State land at New Colony Rajpora Pulwama which was under the “illegal occupation” of JeM militant Ashiq Hussain Nangroo “A/P (PaK)”.
“The said (militant) had raised the two-storied concrete structure on the land a few years ago when he was an active (militant) associate in the area and had illegally occupied the land by force,” police said in a statement.
“It is pertinent to mention that Ashiq Nangroo is involved in many (militant) crimes and presently managing his (militant) activities across the border. Although, the said structure was impounded in a case registered against him under the unlawful activities prevention act as proceeds of (militancy) by Pulwama Police. Meanwhile, District Administration and Police Pulwama demolished the two-storied structure and retrieved the illegally occupied land from the encroacher.” (GNS)
