SRINAGAR: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted on a road by suspected militants in Amlat area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district exploded with a loud bang in the dead of night, locals and officials said.
A police source said that militants triggered the IED, planted in the middle of road, in Amlar village of Tral at around 3:00 am.
However, the source said there was no loss of life or injury to anyone due to the explosion.
A nearby residential house, they said, suffered little damage. “The blast caused a huge crater in the middle of the road where it was planted. The window panes and glasses of a nearby house were also shattered,” said a local resident.
Soon after the attack, additional forces were rushed to the spot and a combing operation was launched to nab the militants, the official said.
