Huge Consignment of Psychotropic Substance Unearthed in Budgam, More Recovered from Local Resident’s Possession

Budgam, : Jammu and Kashmir Police Friday claimed to have busted a drug hideout in Galwanpora of Mazhama area in Central-Kashmir’s Budgam district, recovering from it a huge consignment of psychotropic substance. The police in the meantime said to have made similar recovery from a local resident near Mazhama railway crossing in the district.

A police official told that on receipt of specific information, a team visited and busted an underground hideout of drugs in the house premises of Zubair Ahmad Mir and Sarjeel Mir, residents of Galwanpora Mazhama. “A huge consignment of ten-thousand one hundred and twenty-eight (10,128) capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon from a large plastic container dumped into the earth was recovered by the team”, the official said.

In an another recovery made in the district, Police in a statement said that on intervening night of Thursday and Friday night, a person roaming in suspicious circumstances was signaled to stop by a naka team near Mazhama railway crossing. The person on seeing the team tried to flee the spot but was however tactfully overpowered (by the personnel present on the spot), it said. On the personal searches of the person, the team as per the statement recovered 144 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon, four Codeine Phosphate bottles and a cash amount of rupees twelve-thousand nine hundred from his possession.

Identifying the accused as one Muzafar Ahmad Dar, a resident of Kanihama Magam, the statement further reads that a case vide FIR Number 104/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Magam and investigations initiated. More arrests are expected in the instant case, it further said. (GNS)
