Srinagar : Scores of relatives mostly women on held a protest demonstration and blocked the road at Rajouri Kadal Srinagar demanding release of youth who they said we’re arrested on alleged militant links.
The family members assembled at Raujori Kadal amid slogans against the arrest of youth.
“These youth are innocent, they are already behind bars from months now, we want their release”, one of the relatives of arrested youth told Valley Media Service.
The protesting youth alleged that the 9 youth who were arrested are being handed over to NIA.
Meanwhile the police has refuted the reports of youth being handed over to the NIA.
A police spokesman said that in this context a case is registered in Kothi Bagh police station.
“FIR No 93/2018 U/s 307,7/27,16-B has been registered against these youth on relevant charges,” a police official said.
“All the arrested youth are currently in judicial custody,” he added. (VMS)
