Says Congress needs him at this juncture
Srinagar : Former MLC advocate Muzaffar Parray on Thursday resigned from the Democratic Azad Party led by former J&K chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Advocate Muzaffar Parray said Congress needs him at this juncture , but his personal relations with Ghulam Nabi Azad will not be affected.
In a written statement issued earlier, he said that he has tendered resignation from the post of member of the DAP working committee as it had been done without his consent.
“I have been associated with AICC right from 1975. Congress had fielded me its parliamentary candidate from Baramulla-Kupwara parliamentary constituency in which Indira Gandhi was a star campaigner, Late Rajiv Gandhi, KC Pant, Mohsina Kidwai & other senior leaders of Congress were campaigners.”
“I have been three times State Vice President and one time senior vice president, Chairman then TAC Sopore also. So my conscience doesn’t allow me to betray Congress party at this crucial juncture,” he said—(KNO)
