Leh, March 5: The Department of Horticulture, Leh conducted a demonstration-cum- awareness camp at Nyoma. Councillor, Nyoma, Eshey Spalzang, was the chief guest for the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Councillor Nyoma stressed the need to promote and adopt organic farming in the block. He also urged the farmers to practice organic farming. He also assured to take forward the case to concerned officials to provide more greenhouse and compost pit for the villagers of the block.
Food Scientist, KVK Nyoma, Dr Anwar Hussain, and Horticulture Development Officer, Mohammad Ali, apprised the villagers of the various schemes they can avail from the Horticulture Department.
Sarpanches, nambardars and farmers from Nyoma, Mudh and Niddar villages attended the campaign.
