Pulwama: Traders, as well as Municipal Councilors of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, staged a protest in front of District Hospital Pulwama demanding a probe into the death of a Class 4th employee of the Municipal Committee.
Pertinently, a day before a Class 4th employee identified as Muhammad Hussain Hafiz had suffered a heart attack while those accompanying him had alleged that the said employee died as doctors were absent from the hospital. His death had sparked the protest.
Eyewitnesses told news agency Kashmir News Trust that some traders and Municipal Committee members gathered in front of the Hospital gate and chanted slogans against the Chief Medical Officer.
The protesters demanded action against doctors and a thorough probe that led to the death of the employee.
The protesters alleged that district hospital Pulwama is in bad shape and it has been losing sheen due to lack of regulations and accountability. They said Director Health Services has failed to bring the hospital on track.
“This hospital is always in news for bad reasons but higher-ups never bother to fix the responsibility,” they said. (KNT)
