Srinagar, Apr 07 : The Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir continue to rise as 812 fresh positive cases, highest in the ongoing year, were reported on Wednesday pushing the number of active cases near 5,031 which otherwise were less than 600 a few weeks before.
Six more deaths were reported in J&K in the last 24 hours taking the toll of deaths to 2,018 and active cases continue to increase and the recovery rate decreases with each passing day. 812 fresh positive cases reported on Wednesday pushed the tally of positive cases to 134,827.
Of the exact number of 134,827 cases, 80,774 are from Kashmir and 54,053 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 812 new cases, 465 belong to Kashmir division while as 347 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 80,774 including 75,896 recoveries and 1,273 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 54,053 including 51,878 recoveries and 745 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,035 including 3,605 from Kashmir division and 1,430  from Jammu division.
With 254 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 127,774 which is 94.76 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 239 from Srinagar, 78 from Baramulla, 42 from Budgam, 11 from Pulwama, 23 from Kupwara, 27 from Anantnag, 17 from Bandipora, 11 from Ganderbal, 08 from Kulgam and 09 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 347 from Jammu division include 138 from Jammu, 79 from Udhampur, 04 from Rajouri, 07 from Doda, 29 from Kathua, 11 from Samba, 09 from Kishtwar, 04 from Poonch, 04 from Ramban and 62 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
As per officials figures, 30,409 positive cases including 477 deaths and 28,115 recoveries are from Srinagar, 9,362including 181 deaths and 8,516 recoveries are from Baramulla, 8,493 including 8,010 recoveries and 122 deaths are from Budgam, 6,050 including 5,837 recoveries and 92 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,906 including 97 deaths and 5,696 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,283 including 5,068 recoveries and 96 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,841 cases including 4,684 and 63 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,773 including 4,654 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,970 including 2,716 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,687 including 2,600 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 26,530 including 25,270 recoveries and 386 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,508 including 4,288 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,928 including 3,831 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,478 including 3,391 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,444 including 3,282 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,900 including 2,808 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Samba, 2,766 including 2,734 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,567 including 2,511 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Poonch, 2,169 including 2,119 recoveries and 23 deaths are from Ramban and 1,763 including 1,644 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 1,566,425 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 60,002 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 5,035 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,376,088 persons have completed surveillance period and 123,282 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 6,329,888 samples are available. Out of 6,329,888 the number of samples tested negative stands at 6,195,061 while as 134,827 have tested positive, among them 5,035 persons are active, 127,774 persons have recovered and 2,018 persons have died—(KNO)
