Tally reaches 154,407; death toll reaches 2,092, active cases increase to 16,094, recovery rate decreases to 88.22

Srinagar : The Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir continue to show a steep spurt as 1,965 fresh positive cases were reported on Thursday pushing the number of active cases to 16,094 which otherwise were less than 600 around a month before.
Eight more deaths were reported in J&K in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 2,092 and active cases continue to increase and the recovery rate decreases with each passing day. 1,965 fresh positive cases reported on Thursday pushed the tally of positive cases to 154,407.
Of the exact number of 154,407 cases, 92,417 are from Kashmir and 61,990 from Jammu division. Officials told that among 1,965 new cases, 1,176 belong to Kashmir division while as 789 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 92,417 including 81,775 recoveries and 1,309 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 61,990 including 54,446 recoveries and 783 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 16,094 including 9,333 from Kashmir division and 6,761 from Jammu division.
With 791 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 136,221 which is 88.22 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 590 from Srinagar, 198 from Baramulla, 68 from Budgam, 62 from Pulwama, 54 from Kupwara,105 from Anantnag, 13 from Bandipora, 23 from Ganderbal, 32 from Kulgam and 23 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 789 from Jammu division include 469 from Jammu, 68 from Udhampur, 45 from Rajouri, 27 from Doda, 31 from Kathua, 31 from Samba, 15 from Kishtwar, 13 from Poonch, 38 from Ramban and 51 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
As per officials figures, 36,922 positive cases including 495 deaths and 31,340 recoveries are from Srinagar, 11,137 including 187 deaths and 9,543 recoveries are from Baramulla, 9,313 including 8,540 recoveries and 123 deaths are from Budgam, 6,563 including 6,034 recoveries and 95 deaths are from Pulwama, 6,315 including 99 deaths and 5,875 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,854 including 5,308 recoveries and 101 deaths are from Anantnag, 5,066 cases including 4,829 and 63 deaths are from Bandipora, 5,022 including 4,747 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Ganderbal, 3,414 including 2,917 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,811 including 2,642 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 30,671 including 26,324 recoveries and 412 deaths are from Jammu district, 5,462 including 4,993 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Udhampur, 4,238 including 3,877 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,588 including 3,435 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 4,019 including 3,555 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Kathua, 3,209 including 2,854 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Samba, 2,846 including 2,770 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,701 including 2,545 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Poonch, 2,330 including 2,160 recoveries and 23 deaths are from Ramban and 2,926 including 1,933 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 1,710,182 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 77,237 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 16,094 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,489,678 persons have completed surveillance period and 125,081 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 6,919,992 samples are available. Out of 6,919,992 the number of samples tested negative stands at 6,765,585 while as 154,407 have tested positive, among them 16,094 persons are active, 136,221 persons have recovered and 2,092 persons have died—(KNO)
