Bandipora 05 April 2021: Bandipora police continuing its war against the menace of drugs arrested a drug peddler at Kaloosa and recovered large quantity of contraband drugs from his possession.
Acting on a reliable information,a police party of Police station Bandipora led by SHO P/S Bandipora under the supervision of DYSP Hqrs Bandipora Shri Mohmmad Idress -JKPS, during naka checking at Kaloosa Bandipora arrested one person along with large consignment of Charas and Clonzepam Tablets.
The accused has been identified as Nazir Ahmad Bhat S/o AB Kahliq Bhat R/o Kaloosa Bandipora.
It is pertinent here that the said accused was a chronic drug peddler of the area and was evading his arrest and efforts were on to nab him.
During preliminary enquiry it was revealed that the accused drug peddler was selling the drugs to people especially youths of the area at exorbitant rates & make them drug addicts. Accordingly case FIR No. 43/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered in police station Bandipora and further investigation has been taken up.During last 03 days PS Bandipora have arrested 04 chronic drug peddlers and recovered large quantity of drugs from their possession.
General public of the area have appreciated this swift action of police and have felt a sigh of relief.
People are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers and help police in eradicating the menace of drugs.
