Secretary SMC Sgr tours Kawhar village; Programme a milestone in achieving rural development: Sehrish Asgar

Baramulla : The first day of the ongoing ‘Back to Village’ Phase IV (B2V4) programme in northern district of Baramulla Friday witnessed enthusiastic participation of people.

District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar visited various Panchayats in the district including Jal Sheeri and Nadihal. She termed the B2V as a historic step aimed at shaping rural development.

During her visit, the DDC met PRIs, visiting officers and various deputations who projected developmental issues concerning their respective areas.

On the occasion, the DC reviewed the implementation of social security schemes, functioning of PRIs-assuring people that all of their genuine demands would be addressed on priority.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Syed Sehrish as per KNO highlighted the objectives of the programme and said that the programme is a milestone in achieving rural development besides listening to the grievances and issues of rural folk at their doorsteps.

While giving on-the-spot directions to line departments for immediate redressal of the issue of the people, Sehrish also stressed upon the people to avail the benefits that can reach them under the programme.

Meanwhile, Secretary Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Mudassir Hussain paid a visit to Kawhar village of the district where he carried out several developmental activities meant for larger public welfare.

The Secretary, who as per KNO has been designated as the visiting officer for the said Panchayat Halqa, interacted with the prominent stakeholders of the village who appraised their demands and developmental aspirations of varied nature—(KNO)
