SRINAGAR:  Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Jammu, security has been beefed across the state to ensure that the PM’s events don’t face any trouble.

“All the modern means of security system have been put in place across J&K,” a senior police officer said and added an alert has been sounded in all three regions of the state.

“All the agencies and forces including intelligence agencies are working in a very coordinated way. Sharpshooters atop high-rise buildings in three-kilometre radius of the venue will be deployed to prevent any subversive activity while CCTV cameras inside and outside the venue will keep a close eye on any disruptive elements,” he said.

Modi will be visiting Jammu on a day long tour on January 15 to kick-start the campaign for the coming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in J&K.
