Police to investigate presence of Al-Qaeda in State

SRINAGAR : After Al-Qaeda announced Zakir Musa as the head of a newly created Kashmir cell, Jammu and Kashmir police chief on Friday said that they would investigative the presence of the organization (Al-Qaeda) in the state.

He said anyone holding gun is militant for forces. “Militant is a militant (for us) and outfit does not matter. We will investigate the arrival of al-Qaeda in Kashmir,” said Director General of Police (DGP) S P Vaid told reporters.

Former Hizbul Mujahideen leader Zakir Musa, who had endorsed rule of Shariah in Kashmir, has been declared the head of a new outfit in Kashmir named Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.
