South Kashmir : Paramilitary trooper,five civilians injured in Anantnag grenade explosion

Srinagar: A paramilitary trooper and five civilians including a woman were injured after suspected militants lobbed a grenade on CRPF party outside police post Sheerbagh in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

A police officer told GNS that some militants hurled a grenade on the forces party resulting in injuries to a CRPF man and five pedestrians including a woman.

All the injured were taken to nearby hospital where condition of the woman is stated to be serious, they said.

Medical Superintendent district hospital Anantnag, Dr Abdul Majeed Mehrab said that they have received six injured persons, five of them civilians and one CRPF man.

He said that all the injured are being treated upon in the hospital, he said.

Following the incident government forces launched a hunt to nab the assailants. (GNS)
