Srinagar, Oct 31 : Amid the spirit of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations at Srinagar’s iconic Lal Chowk, a warm interaction between police leadership and young students offered a glimpse of the human side of policing, as Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Sujit Kumar spent time with students of Police Public School on Saturday.
The senior officers, as reported by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), interacted with the students and posed for photographs with them, turning the occasion into a memorable moment for the young participants.
The celebrations brought together police personnel, students, youth, members of civil society and other stakeholders, reflecting the spirit of public participation and togetherness associated with the occasion.
The interaction also highlighted the importance of building trust and strengthening the relationship between the police and the younger generation beyond their conventional roles.
The live telecast of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Parade was also screened at police stations and police posts across Jammu and Kashmir, enabling personnel and other participants to witness the national-level celebrations.
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is observed every year on October 31 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, whose contribution to India’s unity and integration remains a defining part of the country’s history—(KNO)
