Srinagar, Oct 30 : The Jammu and Kashmir Government has reconstituted the Union Territory Haj Committee for a period of three years.
As per Notification issued by the Revenue Department on October 30, 2026, in exercise of powers conferred by sections 17(1) and 18(1) of the Haj Committee Act, 2002 read with Rule 20 of the Haj Committee Rules, 2002, the Lieutenant Governor has appointed the following as Members of the J&K UT Haj Committee from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.
Mian Altaf Ahmad, Member of Parliament, Javaid Iqbal, Member of the Legislative Assembly, Mir Mohammad Fayaz, Member of the Legislative Assembly, Zafar Iqbal Manhas and Ahsan Ul Haq Mirza have been appointed as Members.
As per the notification, the Executive Officer, Haj Committee shall be the Ex-Officio Member of the Jammu and Kashmir Haj Committee.
The order has been issued by the order of the Lieutenant Governor, superseding earlier notifications on the subject.(GNS)
