Srinagar, Sep 22 : Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday highlighted key initiatives to promote and diversify tourism across Jammu Division in the ongoing session of the Legislative Assembly.The Chief Minister said government is actively developing new and existing destinations with upgraded infrastructure to establish Jammu as a year-round tourist hub.He said major developmental interventions have been planned at major tourist destinations including Suchetgarh, Shiv Khori, Bhaderwah, Basohli, and Mansar to enhance visitor experience.CM said government is prioritizing ongoing development work of 5 specific pilgrimage circuits covering Mansar, Shiv Khori, Uttarvehni, and Purmandal.He said sustained promotion is being done at local, national and international levels through expos, festivals, travel marts and digital publicity campaigns.These measures aim to boost regional visibility while generating local employment through homestays, tour guiding and allied tourism services, he added.(GNS)
