Budgam: The PDP Women’s Wing on Thursday organized a protest in Budgam, calling upon Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to accept what they termed as his recent wrongdoing and to issue a public apology. The demonstration, held in the town’s main market area, drew dozens of participants who assembled with placards and raised slogans demanding accountability.
Party members said the protest was aimed at sending a clear message that political leaders must maintain responsibility for their statements and actions. According to the participants, Nitish Kumar’s recent conduct had caused widespread discomfort, prompting women activists in Budgam to stage the demonstration to register their disapproval.
Protestors said their aim was not to escalate tensions but to emphasize the need for transparency and ethical conduct in public office. They urged national political figures to lead by example and uphold standards that citizens expect from elected leadership.
The protest concluded with a renewed call from PDP Women’s Wing leaders urging CM Nitish Kumar to issue a public apology to address the concerns raised. They said such a gesture would restore public confidence and help defuse the matter. [KNT]
