Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, while presenting the Jammu and Kashmir Budget 2025, announced 200 units of free electricity and 10 kg of free ration for all Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) beneficiaries from April 1, 2025.
In a significant welfare move, the marriage assistance for girls under the AAY category has also been increased from ₹50,000 to ₹75,000.
The budget also focuses on key sectors, with ₹815 crore allocated for agriculture and ₹390 crore earmarked for tourism development. These measures aim to boost economic growth, support farmers, and enhance the tourism sector in the Union Territory.
The J&K Budget 2025 reflects the government’s commitment to social welfare, economic development, and infrastructure growth, ensuring better support for vulnerable communities.
