Ganderbal : Power Development Department (PDD) has failed to repair the damaged transformer of Herprang village of Ganderbal district of Central Kashmir forcing the villagers to reel under darkness.
Residents of Herprang village told that the transformer in their area developed technical snag some 15 days ago, but the authorities have failed to repair it since then plunging the entire village in darkness.
The residents further added that the department is forcing them to face hardships as without electricity they are being asked to pay the charges for the same. “How can we pay the power free when we didn’t get electricity from almost 15 days,” they said.
“PDD has failed to repair the faulty transformer in the area since past 15 days,” said Ishfaq Ahmad, a resident of Bhat Mohallah, of Herprang area.
The locals appealed the PDD higher ups to look into the matter and redress their genuine grievances at the earliest so that the people here could heave a sigh of relief.
Meanwhile, PDD officials assured that they will ensure restoration of electricity supply to the area at an earliest. (KNO)
