The Power Development Department (PDD) has failed to repair the damaged transformer of Soparnaghama Qaziabad village of Langate in North Kashmir’s Handwara town.
“We are being forced to spend days and nights in darkness in the ongoing holy month of Ramadhan,’ the villagers said.
The residents told news agency Kashmir News Trust that the transformer in their area developed technical snag some 15 days ago, but the authorities didn’t show any interest in repairing them.
The residents appealed the district administration as well as the officials in PDD department to look into the matter at an earliest.
Meanwhile, PDD official said that the transformer is being repaired that will be installed shortly. (KNT)
