SRINAGAR : To pay homage to martyr police Constable Tanseer Ahmad Dar, a wreath laying ceremony was held in DPL Srinagar.
In a statement police said that Chief Secretary Shri B.B Vyas led civil, police and security force officers and jawans in laying floral wreaths on the mortal remains of the martyr.
Among others who presented floral tributes included Principal Home Secretary J&K Shri R.K Goyal, DGP Shri S.P Vaid, ADGP Security Shri Dilbag Singh, ADGP Armed Shri L. Mohanti, Div Com Kashmir Shri Baseer Ahmad Khan, Director Vigilance J&K Shri SJM Gillani, IGP CID Shri A.G Mir, IG CRPF Shri Zulfkar Hasan, IGP Kashmir Shri Munir Ahmad Khan, IGP Traffic Shri Jagjit Kumar, IGP Railways Shri Rajesh Kumar, IG Personnel PHQ Shri J.P Singh, IG CRPF Ravideep Sahi, IGP Armed Kashmir Shri Mubarak Ganaie, DIG CKR Shri Ghulam Hassan Bhat, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Shri Farooq Ahmad Lone, a number of SSsP & Commandants of armed/IR, DySsP and Jawans.
Statement said that the body of the martyr was laid to rest at his native village Sorasyar Chadoora, Budgam. A large number of people participated in the Nimaz-e-Jinazah.
Yesterday, a wreath laying ceremony was also held in DPL Anantnag. DIG SKR Shri Swami Prakash Pani led the civil and police officers in laying the floral wreaths to the bodies of the Martyrs SHO Achabal SI Feroz Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Raheem Dar resident of Dogripora Awantipora, Ct Sharik Ahmad lone son of Abdul Ahad lone resident of Mahayal Tangmarg Baramulla, Ct Tasveer Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar resident of Sorasyar Chadoora Budgam, Ct Sheraz Ahmad Bhat son of Sana-ul-lah Bhat resident of Adso Achabal, Ct Sabzar Ahmad son of Farooq Ahmad resident of Nowgam Shopian and SPO Mohammad Asif Nazikee son of Mohammad Iqbal Nazikee resident of Shangus.
Among others who presented the floral wreaths included DC Anantnag, SSP Anantnag Shri Zubair Ahmad Khan SP OPS Anantnag, ASP Anantnag, DYSP HQRS Anantnag, DYSP DAR and other officers and jawans.
As has been reported that last evening militants fired upon a police party who were on way from Anantnag to Achabal at Thajiwara in the jurisdiction of Police Station Achabal. In this incident six police personnel including the SHO Achabal were martyred. The attack was carried out by LeT Commander Bashir Lashkari.

Tasveer Ahmad is survived by aged parents, wife and two minor daughters, Ct Sheraz Ahmad is survived by aged parents, wife, minor daughter and three brothers. Ct Sharik Ahmad is survived by aged parents, wife, minor daughter, unmarried brother and sister and SPO Mohammad Asif is survived by aged parents, wife, two minor children and unmarried brother.
