World Pheran Day: Budgam resident don life-size cut-out of PM Modi with Pheran

Srinagar: On the eve of ‘World Pheran Day’, a Budgam resident Saturday donned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s life-size cut-out with the traditional Kashmiri Pheran here in Lal Chowk.As per the details Budgam resident was among the first to show his admiration for the gesture.The Budgam resident wore a Pheran to the cut-out of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Clock Tower, offering a symbolic tribute to the cultural heritage of Kashmir.“The Pheran represents warmth and tradition, especially when it comes to the harshest 40 days of Chilay-Kalan. Today, we feel like our culture is being acknowledged at the national level,” a local resident at Lal Chowk said.Locals and domestic tourists gathered around Lal Chowk Srinagar to capture photos with the cut-out of PM Modi wearing traditional Pheran.Another Sajad Ahmad said, “The Pheran is more than just a coat. It is a part of who we are. We all must wear the Pheran and give it a best place which it deserve.”— (KNO)
