Woman commits suicide in Kangan

SRINAGAR: A woman committed suicide by jumping into a canal at Baranbugh in Kangan, police said.

Station House officer Kangan told PTK that they have recovered a female dead body from a canal. The deceased woman have been identified as Parveena Bano (25), wife of Mushtaq Ahmad Chopan of Poshkar Wangat. Reports said that she ended her life after jumping into Wangat link power canal of Upper Sindh 2nd at Baranbugh, half a kilometre from her home.

Her body was recovered two hours after hectic efforts by police and locals from the canal, he said. The body of the deceased was taken to sub District hospital Kangan for postmortem. Police has registered a case and has taken up investigation.
