SRINAGAR: In a horrific revelation regarding an incident insides a police station, a woman in Jammu has alleged that a station house officer forcibly stripped her at a police station and sexually assaulted her.
She further alleged that a beer bottle and chilli powder was inserted in her private parts. The lawyer of the victim told media that the assault was similar to the Nirbhaya gang-rape case in Delhi.
The victim hails from Kanachak area of Jammu. She alleged that few days ago she was falsely accused of theft from a couple’s house where she worked as a domestic help. She alleged police falsely framed her in the case. She also claimed that Kanachal Police Station SHO Rakesh Sharma confined and tortured her for a week besides was not given anything to eat while in custody.
Shockingly she revealed that when she asked for water, policemen used to tell her to drink urine instead. The woman also alleged that her mother, husband and child were also beaten by the police personnel’s.
The woman was granted bail on May 06. A special investigation team has been constituted to probe the matter. A medical examination had been conducted but the results were not immediately available.
