NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has summoned Jammu Kashmir Governor Narinder Nath Vohra to New Delhi on Saturday.
Vohra will be meeting National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Kumar Doval and Union Home Minister Rajnath Ram Badan Singh before calling on PM, sources said. The protests by students, including girls have intensified in the valley since few weeks.
Opposition parties Congress and National Conference have demanded governor’s rule in the state for “the restoration of peace”. The opposition said that the government has failed to to restore peace in the valley and it is better to implement governor rule in the state.
