Tractor driver injured school girl in Lolab, flees

SRINAGAR:  A School going girl was critically injured after being hit by a speedy tractor in Sogam, area of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district Wednesday afternoon.

Reports said that Mehfooza Bano daughter of Abdul Gaffar Chopan of Chandigam area of Lolab sustained serious injuries after being hit by the tractor bearing registration number JK09A-5408.

Mehfooza was immediately taken to Sub district hospital Sogam where from she was later referred to district hospital Kupwara for specialized treatment, they said.

A senior police officer at PS Sogam also confirmed the incident and said: “The accused driver, fled from the spot soon after the incident. A manhunt has been launched to nab him,” he said. (PTK)
