Bandipora, 01 Nov: Acting tough against the drug peddlers, Bandipora Police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Today acting upon a specific information a police party of Police Post Aloosa led by I/C PP Aloosa PSI Mohd. Mushtaq under the supervision OF I/C DySP Hqrs Bpr Shri Zaffar Mehdi JKPS and SHO PS Bandipora Insp. Aashiq Hussain led a surprise naka at Kehnoosa near tourist cafeteria. During naka checking 03 persons were coming from Sopore side towards Aloosa on a Motorcycle Pulsar bearing registration No.JK 05H-3353 in suspicious circumstances and while upon reaching near naka the said persons tried to flee from the spot. Upon which police party tactfully apprehended all the 03 persons along with the motorcycle. During the search of the motorcycle contrabanded substance cannabis weighing about 2.5 kg and charas weighing about 50 grams concealed in Nylon bag and polythene bag respectively. The accused persons have been identified as Aashiq Hussain Peer S/o Javid Hussain Peer R/o Noorbaag Sopore, Rayees Ahmad Matta S/o Gh Rasool Matta R/o Ashtagoo Ghat & Sameer Ahmad Malik S/o Nazir Ahmad Malik R/o Bonihar Aloosa. All the said accused persons have been arrested and taken into custody, and motorcycle seized. During the preliminary enquiry it came to surface the contraband substance were meant to sale in the youth of J/D of PP Aloosa to make them drug addicts.
Case FIR under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered. Investigation going on.
