SRINAGAR: State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has issued notice to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary, Commissioner Secretary Home and Director General of Police (DGP) and sought a compliance report regarding the detention and shifting of JKLF chief Yasin Malik to Delhi.

The SHRC chairperson, Rtd. Justice Bilal Nazki has issued the notice after a Petition has been filed by International Forum for Justice Human Rights JK chairman Muhammad Ahsaan Untoo.

Untoo had pleaded before the SHRC that Malik is a political worker and was detained under Public Safety Act and put in Kotbalwal jail, but was later handed over to National Investigation Agency.

A document reads that the authorities illegally allowed the police authorities to change the custody which is otherwise illegal in nature and handed over custody to NIA. (PTK)
