Shopian: Shopian Police have attached a double-storey residential house in Hermain area of Shopian after establishing that the property was acquired using proceeds from the illegal drug trade. The house, belonging to Muhammad Rafiq Ganie, has been valued at Rs 23,05,244 and stands on a six-marla plot under Survey Number 1169 min.
Police said the accused has been involved in multiple NDPS cases, including FIR No. 26 of 2020 at Police Station Shopian and FIR No. 85 of 2022 at Police Station Heerpora. The attachment was carried out in the presence of a police team, an Executive Magistrate, Lambardar and Chowkidar, following due legal procedure.
Shopian Police reiterated their commitment to act against narcotics-related offences and urged locals to share information on drug activities. [KNT]
