National Conference District President Ramban Mr Sajjad Shaheen on Friday stressed the need for replenishing the depleting ration stocks in remote and far off areas of the Banihal Assembly Constituency, as people were suffering for want of food-grains.
“Stocks have to be maintained especially in snow bound areas, which may entail head load to various areas due to disruption in road connectivity in the wake of snowfall”, Mr Shaheen said during his visit to various areas to have on the spot feel of problems being faced by the people.
Mr Shaheen said that continuous snowfall for the past two days has impacted various utility services like drinking water and power, which are needed to be restored on immediate basis. He said that health services are defunct in several areas as a result of which ailing people are suffering the most.
The District President particularly referred to miseries of people living in Mahu, Mangit ,Trigam, Neel, Pogal, Paristan, Kunda, Sarachi, Khari, Shagan, Sumar, Chamalwas ,Ramsoo, sarbagni, Chaka , Bohardaar and other areas and urged the Governor’s Administration to take all necessary steps for providing some sort of respite to them. He expressed concern over snow having not been cleared on various roads for the past 11 days.
Mr Shaheen interacted with the people and assured that their plight will be brought to the notice of the administration for immediate help and restoration of various services.
