Budgam, May 17, : Budgam Police foiled black marketing of Government rice by seizing huge quantity of illegally procured government rice.
A police official told news agency Kashmir News Trust that acting upon an information that one person namely Abdul Rashid Sofi son of Muhammad Jamal Sofi resident of Harda Batapora has illegally procured government rice and is selling in his private shop at exorbitant rates.
During search of the said shop, police party of Police Station Budgam recovered 10 sacks each containing 50 KGs of rice The accused has been arrested and shifted to PS Budgam, where he remains in custody.
A case vide FIR number 136/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation set into the motion. (KNT)
