Srinagar: GM Shaheen, President Janata Dal-United in Jammu and Kashmir, has urged Omar Abdullah, the would-be Chief Minister, to prioritize regaining statehood for the Jammu and Kashmir.Shaheen emphasized that without statehood, the new government would lack authority and effectiveness. He expressed concern that Abdullah’s recent statements on Article 370 suggest a potential alliance with the BJP in the near future.He was addressing a press conference in Srinagar on Friday.Shaheen also extended gratitude to those who voted for JDU and acknowledged those who didn’t, reassuring that his party remains committed to addressing the people’s concerns.
