Police held trio along with illicit timber in Kangan

Ganderbal, Mar 3: Police arrested 3 smugglers along with illicit timber in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district On Tuesday.

Sources told KNT that police received specific inputs that timber smugglers cut down illicit timber at Dard Wooder Mamar area and sell the same at higher prices.

Accordingly, a police party from Police Station Kangan led by SHO under the supervision of SDPO Yasir Qadri arrested 3 timber smugglers identified as Yousuf Thakrey, Nazir Thakrey and Showket Baniya, all residents of Mamer Dard wooder Kangan and seized illicit forest timber from trio on the spot.

In this regard a case vide FIR number 7/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kangan and investigation is taken up. (KNT )
