Srinagar :  Extolling the contribution of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in setting new benchmarks of introspection, accountability & justice in the system, Senior Peoples Democratic Party leader Mufti Sajjad Hussain has asked party workers to strengthen the institution of democracy so that equitable and inclusive developmental agenda of party could be rolled out.

“When people reposed their faith in the institution of dialogue and reconciliation, giving PDP a chance in 2002, the party not only delivered on peace but liberated Kashmiris from the shackles of uncertainty. As the party has a proven track record of delivery on justice, security and peace, its efforts to lead Kashmir towards a better future needs to be supported and supplemented,” he said while addressing various election meetings at Mattan, Hutmurrah, Vidhay in Bijebehara assembly segment today and appealed for mass voting in favour of party candidate Mufti Tassaduq Hussain.

Spotlighting the subversive and malicious policies of National Conference which bulldozed the efficacy of institutions thereby depriving people of institutional delivery mechanisms and compounding their miseries, Khan said “Socio-economic up-liftment and empowerment of the people forms the very basis for any forward movement towards any political resolution”.

While praising the commitment of the party cadre Mufti Sajjad  said, “The steadfastness and resolve shown by our party-workers gives us the strength to work more rigorously towards the welfare of the state and its people.”

He said the government is facing many challenges on different fronts but the unwavering stand maintained by it towards its mission of peace can’t be shaken.

Mufti Sajjad said the government belongs to people and they must come forward with their ideas and suggestions to make it function more vibrantly and efficiently, and we expect them to intensify their efforts to help the government in restoring normalcy and peace on the ground.”
