Srinagar: Inhabitants of Palapora Eidgah in Srinagar have lodged a formal complaint against incumbent MLA Mubarak Gul, alleging misuse of the Constituency Development Fund and neglect of basic civic infrastructure in the area.
The complaint was submitted before Peer Afaq, the District President of the National Conference Srinagar, and was registered by Imtiyaz Khan on behalf of the people of the locality. The complainants alleged that funds meant for essential development works are being spent on immaterial projects, while critical issues such as dilapidated lanes, bye lanes and roads continue to remain unattended.
According to the complaint, the interior roads of Palapora Eidgah are in a dilapidated condition, causing daily inconvenience to inhabitants, particularly elderly people, children and patients. The people alleged that despite repeated appeals and representations, no concrete steps have been taken by the concerned MLA to repair the damaged road network or address long-pending civic grievances.
The complainants urged the District President of the National Conference to take up the matter with the party leadership and persuade the MLA to prioritize essential infrastructure works in the constituency. They said development should reflect ground realities and address basic needs rather than symbolic or non-essential projects.
Locals expressed hope that the party leadership would intervene and ensure that the grievances of the people are addressed at the earliest, warning that continued neglect of basic infrastructure would only deepen public resentment in the area. [KNT]
