Srinagar: A man from Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district was killed after snow avalanche hit Mati forest of the district.
Officials as per KNS correspondent said that Bashir Ahmad Awan, son of Abdul Karim Awan of Bidihard Larnoo village of Kokernag, 28, a labourer by profession was killed when snow avalanche hit him in Mati Jungle.
According to locals, Awan had gone to jungle for collecting timber.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Muhammad Younus Malik while talking to KNS said his body has been recovered and was handed over to his legal heirs.
Meanwhile, Political leaders Peerzada Mohd Sayed Abdul Rahim Rather, Gh.Nabi Adigami, Peer Shabir, Syed Abdul Rashid, Ab Salam Reshi have expressed sympathies with the bereaved family. (KNS)
