Ganderbal: A residential house in Balti Kalan Gund area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district suffered extensive damage after strong winds and heavy rainfall struck the area on Saturday night. Fortunately, the residents escaped unhurt in the incident.
The house, belonging to Ahsan Balti, son of Abdu Balti, was severely damaged, leaving the family without proper shelter and forcing them to stay under the open sky, locals said.
Locals of the area have appealed to the district administration to provide immediate relief and compensation so that the affected family can repair their damaged home.
Acting on the directions of the District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, the Tehsildar Gund along with the SHO Gund visited Balti Kalan on Sunday morning and took stock of the damage caused to the house. [KNT]
