Fire Breaks Out at B.Ed College in Lasjan, Attic Portion Damaged

Srinagar: A fire broke out in the attic portion of a B.Ed college at Baghandar Soiteng, located between Padshahi Bagh and Lasjan, on Saturday afternoon.

Witnesses said smoke and flames were seen emerging from the upper section of the institution, triggering panic in the area. Soon after the alert, personnel from Fire and Emergency Services reached the spot and launched firefighting operations.

Officials confirmed that the blaze was largely controlled and efforts are underway to fully douse the remaining flames. The extent of damage to the building is being assessed, while the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

There were no students present in the building at the time of blaze.  [KNT]
