Anantnag, Mar 12 : An elderly woman died after she drowned in the Irrigation canal at Buchoo area of Kokernag in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday evening.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that an elderly woman identified as Aziza Banoo (74), wife of Ghulam Nabi Malik of Buchoo, drowned in an irrigation canal at Buchoo Kokernag.
A police officer while confirming the incident said that the body was fished out near Peer Takiya Kokernag, adding that the body was later handed over to her family members for last rites—(KNO)
