Srinagar: Detained Deputy Superintendent of JK Police Davinder Singh, who was caught escorting militants outside the valley on Jammu Srinagar Highway a couple of months back, was brought to Delhi, for producing him in the court on Saturday in a Delhi related case.
CNS monitoring desk has learnt from reports, courting sources that a team of Delhi police was in Jammu earlier to bring him to Delhi., where he was detained in Kathua jail at Heeranagar.
Davinder Singh was arrested by police on on January 11, on Jammu Srinagar Highway, when he was transporting two alleged militants Naveed, Rafi and Irfan to Jammu. After the initial investigations by the J&K police, the case was handed to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Police in its reports had said that the two militants and a lawyer arrested along with them had planned to travel to Pakistan after reaching Jammu. Earlier Davider Singh was shifted to Jammu from Srinagar on a transit remand, where an NIA team questioned him. Subsequent to his arrest, multiple raids were conducted at his residence in Srinagar.
At the time of arrest Davinder Singh was posted at Srinagar International Airport with the anti-hijacking wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police, and was a prominent part of the staff members of security, which received a group of foreign diplomats visiting Kashmir. (CNS)
