Anantnag, Jun 01 : Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Kashmir Range, Abdul Jabbar on Tuesday distributed wheel chairs among 18 physically challenged persons at a function organized at District Police Lines (DPL) Anantnag.
According to a statement, a police spokesman said that the beneficiaries hail from families of police personnel posted in Anantnag district.
DIG SKR interacted with the beneficiaries and assured them all support from the police department to make their life easy. Interacting with them, he said that the persons with physical challenges need to be taken care of by society and the police department will always play its role in this regard.
He advised the police officers and cops to show empathy and kindness towards such segment of society and come forward with helping hand to make them feel part and parcel of the society.
He also asked the beneficiaries not to allow their physical infirmities to come in their way to stay active in their lives in pursuits that suit them.
