Muslim Personal Law Board Expresses Condolences to Maulana Mohammad Shafi Qureshi and Other Bereaved Family Members

Srinagar: An important condolence meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Vice President of the Muslim Personal Law Board Jammu & Kashmir and Sajjada Nashin of Dargah Kralpora Kupwara. In the meeting, deep sorrow and grief were expressed over the passing of Peerzada Mohammad Yahya, a resident of Sheeri, who was the brother-in-law of a key central member and office-bearer of the Muslim Personal Law Board, Peerzada Maulana Mohammad Shafi (Khateeb of Khanqah Hazrat Sultan-ul-Arifeen Makhdoom Sahib). Prayers for the forgiveness of the deceased were offered, and condolences were extended to the bereaved family.

According to a statement received, a similar meeting was also held at the headquarters of the Grand Mufti of Jammu & Kashmir, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam Farooqi, located in Shah Faisal Colony, Soura, Srinagar. Both meetings were attended by Maulana Noorani Naqshbandi, Secretary Peerzada Mohammad Amin Shah, General Secretary Professor Mohammad Yaseen Kirmani, Arshad Hussain Shah, Abdul Qayoom Shah, Syed Momin Nazki, Abdul Khaliq Lone, and other board leaders.

During the meeting, while expressing grief over the passing of Peerzada Mohammad Yahya, it was stated that the deceased had performed unforgettable deeds during his lifetime. He played an important role in the publication efforts of Anjuman Tableegh-ul-Islam Jammu & Kashmir and in expanding its reach in the region. Participants noted that the deceased was a man of pious character and possessed a philanthropic personality.

The meeting extended condolences and sympathy to the bereaved family, particularly to Peer Adil Hussain Shah and Maulana Mohammad Shafi Qureshi (Executive Member of the Muslim Personal Law Board), and prayed to Allah Almighty for the forgiveness of the departed soul.

Meanwhile, prominent national journalist Irfan Quraishi also expressed sorrow over the passing of the deceased, conveying his condolences and solidarity to the surviving family members—especially Maulana Mohammad Shafi Qureshi—and prayed for the deceased to be granted the highest place in Jannah (Paradise).
