Srinagar, Aug 27 : Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today chaired a review meeting to address waterlogging and Srinagar’s growing drainage challenges.Reviewing SMC’s proposed five-year plan, the Chief Minister emphasised the restoration of natural drains, enhancement of dewatering capacity and separation of sewerage from stormwater.The Chief Minister directed SMC to formulate emergency SOPs for swift response during heavy rainfall, alongside a sustainable long-term drainage plan.He also called for a civic awareness campaign against dumping polythene and other waste into drains.MLAs from Srinagar district and senior officials attended the meeting.(GNS)
