SHOPIAN: An Indian army officer’s bullet- ridden body was found in Hermain village of South Kashmir’s Shopian district, on Wednesday morning.
A police spokesperson said that the body of the Lieutenant rank officer Umar Fayaz was found with bullet wounds in Hermain area of the district.
Local source that Umar, a resident of Yaripora village in Kulgam had gone to Batpora village of the district to attend a marriage function.On Tuesday unidentified masked gunmen picked him from the venue of the marriage ceremony to an unknown location. Today his bullet-ridden body was found in Harmain area of Shopian district.
Umar was posted in Akhnoor. Police said they have received an input and are verifying the circumstances in which the officer was found dead.
