SRINAGAR In a shocking incident, a youth has thrown acid on a girl in Palpora Qaziabad village of Handwara in district Kupwara.
The girl, 25 (name withheld) has been shifted to district hospital Baramulla for treatment, sources said. According to sources the youth identified as Ajaz Ahmad Dar, 28, son of Ghulam Hassan Dar of Qaziabad attacked the girl with acid and runaway.
However police has arrested Abbas Najar, son of Mohammad Yaqoob Najar who has allegedly transported the acid. Police has also registered a case under FIR no. 14 US 307 at PS Kralgund.
SDPO Handwara, Shabir Khan while confirming the incident said, “We have launched a manhunt to nab the culprit and he will soon be behind bars”.
