Srinagar : Militants on Thursday morning shot dead a BJP Sarpanch at Vessu area of Qazigund in Southern Kulgam district.
A police official told news agency Kashmir Dot Com-(KDC) that militants shot dead Sarpanch identified as Sajad khanday outside his residence in Vessu area of Kulgam district. He was immediately rushed to GMC Anantnag for treatment. However, a doctor on duty told news agency KDC that he was brought dead to the hospital.
Meanwhile, A police official said that security forces have cordoned off the whole area to nab the assailants.
